"Song for Dad" was written some time ago and I always played it for my father on the living room piano. I named it for him because he loved the melody. My father passed away from COVID in 2022. I was inspired and encouraged recently to rework the song and to share it with the world. I hope you enjoy it, just as my father did.

ABOUT SCOTT

Scott Yahney is a New York-based (Brooklyn/Mill Basin area) keyboardist, composer, producer, engineer, songwriter, and DJ. He began playing piano at age two and has been active in bands since he was 15. His musical influences span a wide range including Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, classic rock, disco, R&B, 1980s pop, techno, and house music. His keyboard style covers everything from classic rock to smooth jazz, and he produces across many genres including trap/hip-hop, pop, dance, EDM, rock, and jazz.

He primarily is known for dance/pop remixes, original productions, and session work around New York. In early 2026 Scott released his debut radio single - the funky high-energy “Steppin’ Back” which received considerable airplay on smooth jazz radio. He has also contributed to projects like a pop/smooth jazz album for Swiss saxophonist/singer Keeshea and composed for the web series Alex 2GUNS.

Yahney performs locally, while also handling sound systems for community events like the Marine Park concerts in Brooklyn. He is a featured artist for plugin companies like United Plugins, Fab Filter, and Melda Production, and endorses Hammond organs (Viscount Legend) while using studio gear including Focal monitors and SSL equipment.

He has production, engineering, writing, and keyboard credits on numerous releases (including under aliases like Columbus Circle). Yahney describes music as his life and continues to produce, write, remix, and perform actively.
